2025 September Issue
We are pleased to publish the September 2025 issue of the International Journal of Contemporary Educational Research.
The International Journal of Contemporary Educational Research (IJCER) has a zero-tolerance plagiarism policy. We check the submissions by using two methods: Plagiarism prevention tools and reviewer checks. All submissions will be checked by iThenticate/Turnitin plagiarism prevention software after and before being sent to reviewers. A plagiarism report must be uploaded when the article is uploaded to the system. Plagiarism reports can be obtained from software programs such as Turnitin & Ithenticate. The plagiarism rate should not be above 20%
The International Journal of Contemporary Educational Research (IJCER) is committed to the principles of scientific originality, respect for intellectual property rights, and ethical publishing in all academic content it disseminates. The journal enforces a zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of academic misconduct, including plagiarism and related unethical practices.
Definition and Scope
Plagiarism refers to the use, reproduction, or presentation of another person’s ideas, data, visual material, or text without appropriate citation, acknowledgment, or permission. The following forms of plagiarism are considered violations within this policy:
Direct plagiarism: Copying another author’s text or statements word-for-word,
Self-plagiarism: Reusing one’s own previously published work without proper citation,
Mosaic plagiarism: Combining sentences or ideas from multiple sources to present them as original,
Failure to cite sources: Using findings, ideas, or data without acknowledging their origin.
Author Responsibilities
All manuscripts submitted to IJCER must meet the following requirements:
• The work must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
• All sources must be accurately and completely cited.
• When third-party materials (such as figures, tables, or datasets) are used, the author must obtain and submit the necessary permissions.
By submitting a manuscript, authors declare that their work is original and free of plagiarism.
Similarity Check and Evaluation
Every manuscript submitted to IJCER undergoes a similarity check using professional plagiarism detection software such as iThenticate or Turnitin during the editorial preliminary review. The acceptable similarity threshold is determined by the editorial board. Any sections found to be reproduced from other works without proper citation are treated as serious ethical violations.
Even when the overall similarity rate appears low, unacknowledged quotations, structural imitation, or paraphrasing without proper citation are also considered forms of plagiarism.
Detection and Response Process
Plagiarism concerns may arise at various stages of the publication process, including:
• During editorial preliminary review,
• During the peer-review process,
• Following publication, based on reader or reviewer feedback.
In such cases, IJCER follows the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors may be asked to provide explanations or responses. Depending on the findings:
• The submission may be rejected,
• In cases identified after publication, a correction, retraction, or expression of concern may be issued,
• Serious ethical breaches may be reported to relevant institutions.
Editorial and Reviewer Responsibilities
Editors and reviewers are expected to immediately inform the editorial office of any suspected plagiarism or ethical misconduct. IJCER upholds editorial independence and ensures that all investigations are conducted with objectivity, confidentiality, and fairness.
Through this policy, IJCER aims to uphold integrity, transparency, and ethical awareness in academic publishing. The journal is dedicated to contributing to the scientific community by disseminating reliable, original, and ethically sound scholarly work.
